A wet basement is a cold basement and a cold basement means more pressure on your HVAC system to keep things feeling warm and comfortable.

A potential home buyer will be much less likely to buy a home that has a damp, musty and unpleasant basement.

A home buyer with interior waterproofing knowledge will likely not buy a house or try to reduce the sale price in order to waterproof properly from the exterior.

Not only because of the immediate tangible experience (STINKY!), but also because it makes them wonder what trouble they’ll have to deal with in the future if they buy a home with an insecure foundation.

Buyers are ok with dealing with some cosmetic work to their new home but much less likely to want to deal with more severe issues like the ones a wet basement may infer.
