CITY GRANT PROGRAMS

Grant programs are being offered by Niagara cities to provide funding to property owners for the installation of devices which provide basement flooding protection. SWAP Program Welland
A funding allocation to a maximum of $4000 is available to assist the homeowner with the improvements.

Lead Replacement Program (LRP) Welland
The city of Welland is offering a grant program to property owners with a lead water service pipe or sharing a water service with a neighbour (also referred to as a split water service). LRP works to provide funding to help offset the cost of replacement of the water service. A funding allocation to a maximum of $1500/$2000 is available to assist the property owner with the improvements.

The city of St. Catharines Flood Alleviation Program (FLAP) provides grants of up to $3500 to homeowners who have or at risk of having a sanitary back-up as a result of sewer surcharging.

WRAP Program Niagara Falls
The city of Niagara Falls is committed to the implementation of a weeping tile removal assistance program (WRAP). The purpose of the WRAP program is to disconnect weeping tile from the sanitary sewer. Reimbursement up to a maximum of $4000 for labour, material, permit and taxes. Backwater Valve to prevent sewage flows from backing up into the basement. Reimbursement up to a maximum of $1200.
